A summary of how to submit a collection for pricing, and what information is required in order for CALA to cost and produce your designs
In order to provide the most accurate costing and production possible, CALA needs to understand your design intent. We've broken down design intent into three categories:
- Design
- Materials
- Artwork
To guide you to uploading all of this information, we have a handy "Checklist" on each design. As you upload and complete each item on the checklist, you can check it off and move on to the next piece.
DESIGN TAB
Front and Back Illustrations
- Provide clear designs showing the front and back of your garment. These can be in any format, from hand-sketch to Illustrator files, but the more detail you provide the better.
Identify construction details
Use the measurement and comment tools to identify key measurements and any specific construction notes. Make sure to specify the techniques for any prints or graphics, and any washes or processes applied to the garments.
Reference Images
Upload examples of similar garments and styles you like, to reference for garment fit, materials, or other styling details.
MATERIALS TAB
Fabrics
Upload specific fabric details or examples to reference — include a photo, and add comments with color, technique, weight, and any other identifiers.
Trims (if applicable)
Upload image/s of featured or non-standard trims. Use the comment tool to call out finishes, quantity and/or size.
Main Label Materials
If you have specific requirements for the main label, upload any specific fabric details or examples to reference.
ARTWORKS TAB
Primary Artwork
If applicable, include any artwork used in your garment. Make sure to upload high-resolution files — either in vector format (AI, PDF, SVG, etc), or at least 300 DPI (JPG, PNG, etc).
Main Label Artwork
If applicable, include any artwork used in your garment. Make sure to upload high-resolution files — either in vector format (AI, PDF, SVG, etc), or at least 300 DPI (JPG, PNG, etc).
VARIANTS TAB
Units, Color, and Size Break
Add number of units in the variants tab. Specify color way/s and size break. Make sure to indicate desired sample size.
Getting Pricing
When submitting your collection for pricing you'll specify the rough number of units and colorways you'd like, as well as your desired sample size and target LDP cost. Note that the target cost is not required for submission, but helps our team understand what you're hoping to pay for each unit of your design.
Review Pricing & Checkout
Step 8: Review your costing, finalize your units and check out. At the checkout screen you'll see timing estimates, as well as what is included in the total landed cost displayed.
That's it! The next step is development, which includes technical design, 3D virtual sampling, physical sampling of fabrics and prototypes of your items.
